    Calculating Eligibility Dates & Hiding negative Dates

    I've been stumped for 3 days trying to calculate award eligibility dates relative to start dates. More specifically, I can't seem to get a "countdown" eligibility formula (column H) to function properly and whether or not it triggers a warning that an award is due (column I).
    I'm hoping to find a guru here that can help me sort this out & understand how to make it work! Most of what I have already learned about Excel was as a result of reading the forum here.

    Why not just make it simple and put the result in days?

    =if(G2<today(), "Eligible", G2 - today())

    ... and format the result as Number.

    I need 6 months to a year to process the awards applications & send out invitations etc.
    I also want to be able to use/modify the formula for 10-40 year applications, provincial & federal awards.

    Use conditional formatting to highlight values < 365.

    If you really have your heart set on that format,
