how can i find a currency text in a column and multiply it by my own conversion rate using

    currency.xlsxcurrency.xlsxcolumns
    A | B
    Rows
    1 Other currencies | USD
    2 EUR 111
    3 POUNDS 222

    Self determine exchange rate:D1:EUR 1.6 D2: POUNDS 2.0

how can i make use of the excel function to find the currency text example "EUR" in column A and do multiplcation between a exchange rate i entered in column D1 with the integer value in A2? same for other currencies, if "POUNDS" is detected instead of "EUR" it will multiply the integer value in A3 with D2 and display at B2. Thanks!

    updated with excel example thanks!

You get better help if you post an Excel-example of your workbook, without confidential information.

Whilst not disagreeing with oeldere, who is offering a far more sensible layout for your sheet. try this ...

    thanks man!
    maybe a few questions
    1) so for column C which is the SGD, i have to enter function for each box that i going to add on?
    2) for the currency text, its not possible to put it together with the price? as in "EUR 111.0" then use a method to detect the text on the left and amt on the right?

    thanks!

Please refer in your answer to whom your replying.

    1) you need tot add every value (euro / pounds / yen) at the table with values.

    Otherwise it won't be found.

    2) Problaby it can be done, but why do you want it that (complex) way.

You download the data from another source, and get it this way?
