    Help with date calculation

    Hi,
    I have an excel worksheet which captures room bookings.

    In it I wish to calculate how many rooms were cancelled in a given building and in a given month.

    In the attached example, Columb B or C contains the date of the cancellation, Col E contains the building, so for example '1 BUILDING USA' had 2 cancellations on 14 FEB, 5 on 24 FEB giving 7 in total for FEB 2012. I wsh to find out the same for other buildings (i.e just the total for each month for each building)

    Note, this will change each month so needs to be reproduced.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Re: Help with date calculation

    In the attached file I've set up a little table for you in columns O and P, with this formula in P26:

    =COUNTIFS($E:$E,$O26,$B:$B,">="&$O$24,$B:$B,"<"&$O$25+1)

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Help with date calculation

    My apologies and in my haste for receiving the answer I wanted I forgot to abide by the correct protocol (although I did say thanks, not in the correct way).

    It has been duly noted and sorry again.

    Kind Regards
