    Entering numbers to one cell

    Hello

I'm sorry if there is an answer to my question already in this forum,
but since I do not know how to correctly name my problem I will describe
it as well as I can....

What I want to do in excel (ms office 2003) :

Let's say there is a number 100 in cell A1 and I click on the cell once, then I type the number 200 and hit enter.
The result will be 200 - right?
So how can I make A1 cell to sum my numbers in a manner of me overwriting them?
For example if there is a number 200 in cell A1 and I click on it once and insert 300 and hit enter so the result would be 500
And next time I need to add a number to the same cell A1 so I type let's say 800 and the result will be 1300.

So far I have been using =200+300+800. To sum up my question: is there a way to avoid typing the + and then the needed number every time?

Hope my question makes sense to someone and finds a solution, thank you

Re: Entering numbers to one cell

    Hi Juhan,

    Welcome to the forum

I would say that easy way could be :-
Enter =sum(A:A) in cell B1 and keep on adding numbers in column A and all these number will be automatically summed up in Cell B1

If this is not acceptable, then only way is VBA (macros). thanks,
