SUM until BLANKCELL encountered

Just wondering if someone could help me interpret this formula please?

=IF(A2=0,SUM(INDEX(A:A,MAX(IF($A$1:A1=0,ROW($A$1:A1)))+1):A1),"")


I am trying to piece it together because I think it will help me with another project I am trying to build

Ideally; I am tying to....

7 11 <--Conditional Format;Cell Color=RED if =SUM(OFFSET(A7,-6,0,7,1)>70)

AND/OR

Seems to be gone now, but someone posted a response to my question about breaking down the formula I posted in this question.

Who ever it was, THANKS HEAPS! I did manage to download the spreadsheet (before it dissapeared) and I'm going through it.

Re: duplicates, this question is different to the other I posted about counting 5 cells up/down...this question is about counting upto blank cells

Thanks heaps Dilip...your suggestion for summing up/down worked very well...I guess I was extending the question to "how do I count up to a blankcell"...?

Your thread was answered by vlady (post #2) but vlady deleted it based on icestationzbra's belief that this was a duplicate post (which would be a violation of the rules).
