    Returning a date based on a range of dates

    I have a row (row 6) of dates (the last date of each month specifically) beginning with 01/31/2011 and ending with 12/31/2012.

    I want a formula that will return the last day (month ending) of the prior month based on =today().

    So if today is 08/10/2012 and I want cell B2 to show month ending for prior month (07/31/2012) how would that if statement read?

    I can't figure it out for the life of me.

    Thanks

    =EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1) should do it
