    conditional formatting

Hello all nice forums hopefully i can get some help i am running into a bit of a problem with my spreadsheet's when applying conditional formatting:

little overview/example, I have created a spreadsheet in which i will be entering text into a define with a name table we will call this "STAFF". the text will be in random cells and manually entered in by the user.

In another area of the sheet lets call this AL3:AL103 will be a list of names/text.

What i would like to happen is apply conditional formatting to the cells AL3:AL103 so that whenever a name typed anywhere into "STAFF" the corresponding cell equal to the text in AL3:AL103 highlites with the defined background color.

Please help i seem to have a bit of writers block on this, should i be using a vlookup or something else thank you for your speedy reply.

I do not understand the sentence: ...I have created a spreadsheet in which i will be entering text into a define with a name table we will call this "STAFF" ...
    Try this:
    1. Select the cells AL3:AL103
    2. Insert the CF formula:

Where STAFF is a NAMED RANGE of a single column or single row of cells where the names will be typed. If not, then use the addresses of a single column/row of cells where the names will be typed such as $A$1:$A$50 or $G$20:$Z$20, for example:
