    ascending numbers with text

    Hi all. Very new to excel. Great tool, just beginning to learn the language. I needed to learn how to make ascending number which I did, buy typing a number into a1 then the next highest in a2 the next highest in a3, highlighting the three and then clicking on the box in the lower right corner and dragging down. Voila! the numbers ascend. I need it to ascend with text in the same cell, which will help manage my sites and incoming messages. basically I'm trying to place [email protected], and have the number ascend to [email protected] and so on. Any advice???

    MarvinP You're a genious. Thank you. That was avery warm welcome to the forum. that's exactly where I was wanting to go with this. it ascended from one to the desired number with the text. Is there a way to to do the same except for begin with what ever number I choose first and it ascend from there?

    Re: ascending numbers with text

    How about:

    =ROW() + 30 &"@mlv77.com"

    Replace the 30 with any number you want...
