Combine time cell and function cell with new function

    Hello all,
I'm trying to create a formula and am seeking your guidance. I have 2 colums both referencing time. Column A has time formatted as "2 min 41 seconds". Column B has a math function of "=2+(41/60)" to give a number.

What I would like to do is automatically fill column B with the values entered in Column A. So let's say I enter a time of 4 min 00 seconds, I would like the "4" and the "00" to populate the formula "=x+(yy/60)". If possible, I'd also like to display the MAX value in column A without changing the style from "general". Is any of this possible? Thank you in advance for your help.

Sorry I wasn't sure how to get the proper wording out and into the thread title.

    Hi,

Why not just enter =A1*24 in B1 and format it as a number not a time.
