Counting Occurences in a Range based on Specific Criteria

How would you count all occurrences of "pst" within a three column range specifically associated with A1?

a1			pst
b1		pst
a1	pst		pst
a1	pst
b1		pst	pst
a1			pst

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A6="a1")*(B1:D6="pst"))

assuming your data is in A1:D6

You can do something like this..

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A13="A1")*(B1:D13="pst"))
