    Vlookup; automatic lookup value help

Hello, im new to this forum and I'm also new to excel, just learning a little about the formulas, I have a question regarding VLookup, would really appreciate the help.

I think I got how basic Vlookup works, but I want it to automatically get the lookup value... for this particular case, I want a formula I can paste on several rows, cause the table_array, col_index_num and range_lookup are always the same, but i have to manually select the lookup value as it keeps using the one I copied the formula from... I want the lookup value to be chosen from the left of where I am using the vlookup... this is the formula I have:

    =VLOOKUP(I27,Cases!$C$6:$D$24,2,FALSE)

This one I used on column/row H27, so the lookup value is I27, so I want to paste the foruma on lets say H40 and automatically make the lookup value to I40.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

If you copy the formula, it should update automatically since I27 is not an absolute address
