Formula needed: autofill a cell with today's date when another range of cells are edited

Hopefully the tile says it all.

I've got a database with a range of information (text/numbers). I want to have one cell autofill with todays date when any of range of cells is modified. Tracking purposes, whatnot...

I can't use macros on this so I'm hoping there is a formula that can accomplish this as well.

    Anyone wanna lend a formula?

    Cheers,
    CM

    Hi cmiv,

    welcome to the forum.

If you do not want to use a formula then I would suggest you to make a copy of that range in another sheet and use = sign on the third sheet to validate if the data in both the sheets are equal.. after this you'll have all TRUEs in the third sheet. Whenever any data changes in sheet 1, you'll have a FALSE in sheet 3 and then you can track this false to trigger TODAY's date in a cell in any of these three sheets.

Else, you need to rely on Macros
