    I think I need an If/Then forumla...

I am trying to write a formula that will return the value if a certain text value is met.
I have a workbook with 2 sheets (the team sheet and the data sheet)
Team sheet-Cell A2 is a drop down box with team members name in them
I would like to write a formula in team sheet-cell B6 that will return the value of data sheet-cell C5 if the text of Team sheet-cell A2 meets team member 1 and return value from data sheet-cell c6 if the team sheet-cell A2 meets
    team member 2

    Team Member 1 - Team Sheet Cell A 2
Team Sheet cell B6 - formula needed to return value of data sheet-cell C5 for team member 1 and C6 for team member 2

    Thanks

Thanks. I tried that but it returns error
I have data in the "data sheet" so I am not sure why it is returning the word error

It worked! Thank you so much. I renamed the sheets to just Team and Data and removed "sheet" from the formula and it worked. I will try it now with the names and hopefully we will get the same result.
    Thanks a million!!!!!

no problem. its easier in future to upload a small sample book that way errors like that wouldn't happen.

remember to mark solved and star tap once a thread is answered.
