Trying to Find the Correct Formula

What I am trying to do is count how many "yes's" there are for a particular field in multiple rows.

For example, there are multiple rows with 30 columns. In the 3rd column the main field "Students" is listed. In all the rows affilated with the student "Dan" from that column, there are a number of cells filled with "Yes". I need to find a way to calculate this number of "yes's" for Dan.

    Thanks for any help!

Re: Trying to Find the Correct Formula

    =COUNTIF(A10:D10, "yes")

assuming that A10:D10 is your range.
Also, i believe you need to rename the title of this thread to something more specific.
and mark as solved if this answers your question
