Multiple drop dependant drop downs in single cell

    Hello,

I am hoping there is a way to do this, and i am hoping someone can tell me the easiest formula to accomplish the task.

So, i am working in the same workbook, but on two worksheets. The first sheet is an invoice template, the second sheet has all my detailed lists for data validation. So far I have set up the main drop down, which consists of 3 different suppliers. But what I want to happen now, is to have the 5 cells underneath this dropdown (in the same column) automatically bring up new drop downs. So essentially, i want each cell to have its own drop down that is dependant on the first drop down, so for example:
in the first drop down, if "Ford" is chosen in cell E8, in cell E9 i want a drop down with 5 Ford models to come up automatically, in cell E10 I want a drop down with 5 Ford car colours to come up autonatically, and in cell E11 I want a drop down with 5 Ford dealership locations to come up automatically.
but then if I choose "Chevrolet" in Cell E8, in cell E9 I want a drop down with 5 Chev models to come up automatically, in cell E10 I want a drop down with 5 Chev car colours to come up automatically, in cell E11 I want a drop down with 5 Chev dealership locations to come up automatically.

    and so on..

so basically, i want to have several drop down lists IN THE SAME CELL that are dependant on the main drop down list. (note that the lists are on a second worksheet) so i'm guessing it will have to be some crazy.. =VLOOKUP (INDIRECT, ......)???

please help, hopefully this is possible!
    thanks!
    Katie

You are not looking for dependent dropdown lists then?

Re: Multiple drop dependant drop downs in single cell

thanks, that is the direction i am going, but i still need one stop further. Maybe im not explaining myself well enough. let me try again.

Say if cell E8 has a drop down with 3 options: Ford, Chevrolet, Audi
Is there a way to link it so that if Ford is picked, cell E9 then shows a list of Ford Cars.
But if Chev was picked, cell E9 would then show a list of Chev cars.
Or if Audi was picked, Cell E9 would then show a list of Audi cars.

Does this make sense? So I want the cell E9 to have 3 different drop down menus, each being dependant on cell E8.
    so again,
if option A is picked in cell E8, option A list appears in cell E9.
if option B is picked in cell E8, option B list appears in cell E9
if option C is picked in Cell E8, option C list appears in cell E9.

so 3 different drop-down lists in cell E9 that are individually link to the 3 options in drop down list from Cell E8.

none of these links so far show me how to do this. please advise if you know...?
    thanks!!
