    Convert data in a column

I regularly download data into Excel. One column is in Knots per hour. How can I set up a conversion that will convert the data in the column to miles per hour automatically? 1 kt = 1.5077945 mph.

Re: Convert data in a column

G'day and welcome to the forum,

I'm going to attack this question into two parts.

    1. Data into columns. Click here for a step by step

    2. Convert Knots per hr to Miles per hr. Providing that you've downloaded the data into each individual cells and for argument sake that information is in column A and you like the conversion in column B. Enter the following formula below in cell B1. Then copy drag down.
