select from a data range depending on a certain cell input.

    Hi all.

I have a cell on sheet 1 (C4) that is titled (D)irect (A)gency. I want another column of cells on sheet 1 titled 'price' to select from prices on sheet 2 of the spreadsheet, dependent on whether D or A is entered in C4.

Sheet 2 already has a list of all of the direct and agency prices.

    I hope that is understandable!

Sorry but I don't understand what you need. Could you perhaps post an example workbook please? I think a simple VLOOKUP formula will do what you want but until I can see it visually I can't be sure.

    Thanks

    Hello there,

I believe this can be accomplished with VLOOKUP but could you please provide an example workbook of you data?

    Thanks!

In the Quick Reply box, where you type your message, there should be an Go Advanced option button. Select that, then select the paperclick option on the formatting menu selection of the message.

    LUSTY BOOKING SHEET TEMPLATE.xlsx

I think this should have done it.

Yep got the spreadsheet. I can't see a list of prices anywhere?

I need to know what both D and A will want to show as well.

    LUSTY BOOKING SHEET TEMPLATE.xlsx

Hi Danny. Try this one. On sheet 2 you will see the list of agency and direct prices.

When you type d or a into C4, then either the agency or the direct price needs to be inserted into column d (cost pp)

    Thanks

I have done a few for you. You will get the Jist .

There needs to be a little bit of formatting on the currencies as you go too.

If they won't change straight to currency then I would suggest formatting to currency and retyping the amounts.

    Hope this helps .

Awesome, thanks Danny. I tried all sorts of variations of that, but couldn't get anything to work!

No problems. If the problem is sorted then please do make sure to mark the topic as SOLVED.

A quick pointer for IF statements that perhaps you already knew but it never hurts to say it again.

Any text needs "" around it which may be why it didn't work.

    Regards

    Danny
