    Unhappy leaving cell blank if another cell blank , else do formula

    Trying to have a cell, lets say Sheet2 A1 = Sheet1 A1 using the following:

    =IF(A48="","",=A48)... Does not work

    =IF(A48="","",IF(A48>0,A48,"")) Does work....

    IS my syntext wrong? I thought it was easier than that. Beleive it or not, I use excel functions, vba, formulas a lot. Why is this little guy bugging me so much?

    Re: Why does this work and not this?

    Get rid of the equal sign

    =IF(A48="","",A48)

    Re: Why does this work and not this?

    remove the = sign before A48
    hence,
    =IF(A48="","",A48)
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!

    Re: Why does this work and not this?

    I would use this formula instead =IF(A48>0,A48,"")
    does exactly the same as the second one you have posted
    as for the first one 0 is not an empty string it is a value thats why it will display

    though im confused by your first sentence
    "Trying to have a cell, lets say Sheet2 A1 = Sheet1 A1 using the following:"
    as none of those formulas will do that

    Re: Why does this work and not this?

    Isn't it amazing how you can look at a formula for hours and still miss the obvious? Thanks to all for the help... But I did forget to mention that the cell this formula was checking was a list box... I just wanted to copy whatever the entered in the first sheet... thanks!

    Was...
    =IF(A48="","↓REQUIRED↓","")
    =IF(A48="","",IF(A48>0,A48,""))

    Now...
    [A94] =IF(A95="","↓REQUIRED↓","")
    [A95] =IF(A48="","",A48)

    We will discuss my noobe move with no one....
