Exclamation How to ensure the coming data is correct?

Hi I am new beginner. And I wish to learn here. Appreciate the help.

I am doing excel database for a company, and I need to ensure the correctness of the input data.
is there any functionality in excel that can check the input data, like it will pop out window for you to enter your data twice and check its consistence?

I know this issue will be partially solved by data validation. But this's very limited as for it will only check the data type. so wont detect any human input error.

Plz help me, thank you sooooo muchhhhhhhh!!

    Hi Sky,

In my opinion you need to define the data validation dynamically to achieve this... if you are concern about human typo error then it is little more difficult.
Share more details to get more accurate suggestion. Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick reply!!!!!

So here is how the headings look like.

For Data Validation, Its quite easy to solve like the column of "CSN NUMBER, Country, Partner Name....",

But for columns where the incoming data cannot be expected, for example, the column of Proprietor First Name, and email address.

So for these columns how can i ensure that the data is correct?

Well what exactly are you wanting to validate for First Name etc? Seems to me that first name could contain anything?

YES, that's where the trouble is.

AS the names could be anything, so I can not expect its length or anything. Therefore, its very hard to use data validation.

So I try to think it another way, that is there any features in excel that allows the user to input data into the cells twice and compare its consistence. Then the data can be accepted. Correct me if there is no such feature.

    Thanks

    Hi Sky,

A user can enter a name like "sky" instead of "dilip" .. then how you would validate this ??
