Im creating an excel spreadsheet for a kitchen. The idea is to each week, scan price sheets into an excel spreadsheet where it displays the item name in one column and then the price into the next. I have that part figured out. I have an excel spreadsheet with an order guide of all the items I currently use.
Column A is the current list of Items I use, Column B is the formula, Column D is where the item would be pasted, along with Column E where prices of the vendor would be displayed. Normally vendor price list or hundreds of items with only maybe ten percent I actually Utilize. The formula I need help with is Column B. I want the formula to do a search of Column D and the cell that matches the search keywords, display the price next to the cell that matches the search result.
For example. A1 is Artichokes. B1 has the formula I cant figure out. I copy the pricing sheets into Column D (item) and E (price). The formula I have in mind is a search If formula and if True, D18 contains the word "artichokes", I want the contents of E18 displayed in B1. That way, I can make 3 tabs for each of my produce companies and transfer that data into a master sheet and compare the prices.
Also will I have to make each formula unique or can I
Thanks
Jason
