Match a lookup cell to a range of cell that only contain a portion of the lookup cell.

Hi

For example if i have a range of cells in sheet 1:

A1 - 1056 / 45556622
A2 - 4561 / 45678912
A3 - 9875 / 45123987

And in sheet 2:

B2 - 45678912

What formula can I type in sheet 2 (cell B3) to look at (cell B2) and find a match between sheet 1 cell(A1:A3)?

Try this:

=IFERROR(MATCH("*"&B2,Sheet1!A1:A3,0),"Not found")

The number returned is the row where the match is found, or an error message if no match.
