Need help in computing for tardy

    Hi!

Can someone help me with this?

Am trying to solve a certain case in my excel 2007. My problem is how to compute for tardiness. The start time 8:30am to 5:30pm. Break time is 12:30pm to 1:30pm which is not paid break.

The first formula works fine but it does not compute for the afternoon shift. example is time in at 1:37pm, this should result to a 7 minutes tardy.

While on the 2nd formula it works for the part of afternoon shift, but it voids the morning shift tardy. example time in at 8:31am, this should result to 1 minute tardy

Hope you can help me solve this problem.

    Thank you.

This may get you started (I used Named ranges in the formulas instead of Cell addresses):

    Thanks ProtonLeah!

the formula works, but it disregards that recognizes the saturdays and sundays and the tardy for the 1st shift i.e. 8:35am.
