Tracking difference in values at set intervals?

I probably won't be wording this the right way, so I apologize in advance. I'm wondering if there is a formula to track the differences in specific cells on a daily basis. We keep separate call logs for each of our employees to track the # of incoming calls, how many calls were returned, the date of the oldest call not returned, etc. Then I have a call summary worksheet that pulls the data from everyone's logs.

I'm trying to see how the numbers in column I change on a daily basis to see how many calls each worker is returning.

    Thank you in advance

I would like to know, you need to get the newly returned call numbers after daily update the data right?

If that's the case, more data need to recorded inorder to provided resources to show the newly returned call numbers.

Thank you for your response. We don't do daily updates. Each worker keeps their log open all day, and when they mark a call as returned, it is reflected in the call summary worksheet. I'm sorry if that isn't what you were asking me?

I'm thinking of what kind of result you want to get.

The result need "how many calls each worker is returning." in "daily basis"
, is that mean you want a table to have columns of days, with rows of each worker, to show NEWLY returning calls each day?

Sorry as I'm not clear of the situation you faced. If I can get more information it should be helpful.

    no problem

The call summary worksheet you provided in #1 is not enough to achieve what you want.
As you mentioned in #3 there's worker logs for call details, I think the formula need to get from there to return the solution.

Can you provide me the structure of worker logs? (If can attach a sample then that can be better)

    See if this help?
If you want a table for Oct 12, create a new sheet next to log then:
1)Have columns fill date such as 01/10/2012 (in B2:AF2 as example)
2)with fill rows of each worker such as PAT (A3:A9 as example)
    3)Fill In B3 the following

I'm confused as to why column C is referenced?

First of all, THANK YOU. I just wanted to clarify:

Each employee has a workbook named after them, mxf.xlsx for example. Each workbook has 12 worksheets (one for each month) where incoming voicemails are logged.

    untitled3.JPG

Then I have a call summary workbook that pulls the data from each of the monthly worksheets in each employee's workbook.

    call summary workbook.JPG

Column C just lists the names of the callers on the voicemails and is irrelevant. What I want to track is E3 in each employee's worksheets to see how much it has increased than the previous day. This is how we'll be able to track how many calls are being returned on a given day.

I hope that makes sense....I know I'm not doing a very good job of explaining it. Thanks again for your help and patience.

Re: Tracking difference in values at set intervals?

Thank you for your explain, it clarifys much to the case.

Ignore #8 please as I considered Column C as the "workers name".
In my previous imagination all workers record put in same log file so that's why #8 explains.

For your ease in practical, my idea is to append a new sheet in worker log, in mxf.xlsx for example.
The new sheet has formula to count record for each specific day in month.
You then copy and paste the values to the "Call returned per day" sheet.

    Is this works for you?
