this is probably not what you want, but try it and let me know
1st, i removed "merge and center" from row 2. then i used this formula to identify the months...
=IF(DAY(C3)<=7,C3,"")
if you align the dates in row 2, like you did in row 3, you shouldnt have to widen your table much
