Find Min Date from Multiple Criteria

    Hello,
On Sheet 1, In column T, I am trying to find the minimum date from Column G on 'CD Table', based on two criteria. Sheet 1, Column E must match Column A on 'CD Table' and Column A on Sheet 1 must match Column E on 'CD Table'.

    Here is the worksheet.

Thanks! My formula is in sheet 1, and I need the text values on Sheet 1 column A to match Column E on the 'CD Table" sheet, and I need Column E from sheet 1 to match column A, on the 'CD Table' sheet in order to return the minimum date in column G on the 'CD Table' sheet.

Re: Find Min Date from Multiple Criteria

Hi Steeleman5000 and welcome to the forum,

On the CD Table sheet I've created a Pivot Table showing the Order numbers and Minimum of the Date. I then removed all the Orders with the word "Total" in them. This gave me a clean Pivot Table of the Minimum Dates for each order. Then on Sheet 1 I simply used a VLookup formula to retrieve the minimum date based on the order number lookup.

Two problems with you sheet are: You should turn on Automatic Calculate ... This foolded me. Second your Order numbers are numbers on Sheet1 and Text on the CD Data sheet. This also stumped me a little.

See my answer on the attached.

Re: Find Min Date from Multiple Criteria

Thanks Marvin. I'm not sure how they got to be formatted as numbers, they should've both been text. I usually do have Automatic Calculate on but I have a macro built that runs much quicker if it is calculated after it is run instead of during the process.

    Thanks for your help!
