I'm new at this so I'm sure it is operator error and there is a simple solution, BUT . . .
I have several sheets that have columns (of currency figures) that are summed at the bottom of the column.
The sums from like columns on each sheet are then summed together and appear in their own cell on a different sheet.
The front sheet takes the sum from each category from each sheet and puts the total amount in it's own cell. For instance, one category is a net gain (or loss) for a particular stock over multiple purchases. Another is net sale price for one options over several sales.
Those cells on the front sheet are then summed together in different ways, i.e. net from stock sales plus net from options sales.
The problem I am running into is that when the numbers are summed together, if one of the numbers in a cell is a negative number (like a net loss from stock sales) it is added into the total rather than subtracted.
I'm not sure if I've explained this in a clear enough way or not, but hoping someone can help me figure out how to make this work :o)
