Slow Sunproduct (sorry i know you'll have seen this before)

Hello folks, am hoping you can help me with this one, have been tearing my hair out with this.

Below is a formula i use in a sheet to count the number of times the text from A1 occurs in Colum F, is in Nov of this year (date in column G)

    =SUMPRODUCT(--((Records!$F$2:$F$1000)="$A$1"),--(MONTH(Records!$G$2:$G$1000)=11),--(YEAR(Records!$G$2:$G$1000)=2012))

The problem is i have 20 of these on separate row searching for text, with each month in columns so 20 per month, so have the calculation in 240 cellss
so as you can imagine its pretty slow updating everytime

Have been looking at a trying to ger DCOUNTA working but i can;t get my head around it, can any of you folks more knowledgable than me (prob most) able to help out and either simplifyit or guide me to where i need to start looking.

    many thanks

Is there a reason why you have the cell reference between double quotes, or is it the text you are looking for?

Would a Pivot Table be an option?
