Formulas Not Calculating Correctly in Excel 2003

I'm losing my mind! I have been using Excel for over 10 years and I have NEVER seen anything like this! For some reason, formulas are not calculating correctly in Excel. Here's an example:

A B C D
1 2 3 6
26 5 6 6
1 7 9 6

1.) I used a simple formula for this table. I clicked on cell D1 and entered =A1 + B1 + C1
2.) The answer that Excel returned was "6", which is the correct answer
3.) I then dragged the formula down to the rest of the cells in column D
4.) As you can see, column D has the same answer for ALL of the row calculations
5.) I checked the formula for EACH cell in column D
6.) The formula is correct, meaning I didn't just copy the number 6.
7.) The formula for row 2 reads as follows (= A2+ B2 + C2) AND THE ANSWER EXCEL IS GIVING ME IS STILL 6!

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I started off by working on VLOOKUPS and was pulling my hair out because I couldn't figure out where my formulas were off. It then occured to me to check to see if it was an issue with Excel. I opened several different work sheets to make sure it wasn't just a problem with that worksheet. PLEASE HELP!

Re: Please help!!!!

I closed Excel completely and opened a new blank spreadsheet. The formula issues seems to have resolved itself. I will attempt to do the VLOOKUP formulas again, but I am beside myself because of the time I wasted thinking my formulas were wrong!

Turns out the formula calculation was set to manual. When that is the case, the screen needs to be refreshed in order for the calculations to display correctly.

without being able to replicate your problem, its hard to say what could be causing it. i tried in 2007 and got

6
37
17

edit: aahh the old "F9 to calc" problem. i should have thought of that. glad you got it fixed though
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
