Exclamation multi drop down list with multi-lookup

Hi, guys iam new and i have a question.

    I have already
    -----------------------
    a drop down list #1, (on sheet1)
consists of "A","B","C", and so on (list of A,B,C are on sheet2 in table format)

drop down list #2 (on sheet1)
consists of "x" and "y" (list of x and y are on sheet2 in table format)

    On sheet2 i have a table were A has a x and y value, B has a x and y value and so on....
    Info:- Sheet2 Table1, Column 1 : list A, B, C... Column 2=other data (not needed for now), column 3 and 4 is the X and Y values for Column 1

IMPORTANT INFO: The drop down list are not dependent.

    I Want
    ----------
now how do i get excel to return a value when i choose from drop down list 1 and choose x or y (from drop down list 2)

i.e. say I chose A (drop down list 1), and then in drop down list 2, i choose y, now i want excel to return me the value of A[y]
i.e say I chose A again (drop down list 1), and then in drop down list 2, i now choose x, now i want excel to return me the value of A[x]

The return values must be in the same cell, but replaced with the old value when i select new criteria from drop down list.

Re: multi drop down list with multi-lookup

sorry, thats not what iam looking for,

I haven't used excel in a long time, can someone give me a webite with commands, "and" "if", "index", "match" and so on with theirs uses. I mean like, all the commands of excel.

Info: my drop down lists are independent.

Advice: Should i learn VB programming, or is this beyond excel's limit?
