Conditial Formula size

I have created a monster conditional formula and I am having problems copying it in my worksheet. When I open my task manager and look at the processes the memory usage starts at about 325,000k. But as I start to copy my formula the memory usage increases instead of staying around the same number. When it gets to be close to 2,000,000k it gives me an error. This only happens when I copy a formula that has 26 lines. When I copy a formula that only has 21 lines the memory usage stays around the same number. Is there anyone that can help me with this problem? Thanks

Re: Conditial Formula size

you have a formula that has 26 lines???

for us to even begin to offer suggestions, we ill need to see what you are working with, and what you are trying to do

i would suggest you upload a sample work book, (all sensitive data removed), showing what data you are working with, what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Conditial Formula size

This is a file that keeps track of a pilots duty day (shift 1) and revenue times (shift 2-3-4). The majority of the time we only use shift 1 and 2, but we have been using shift 3 when a helicopter goes down for maintenance. So when a pilot enters his duty day of a start time of 0900 and a stop time of 2100 the formula will automatically put a 1 in that hour timeslot. I have copied the formula for shift 3 thru 5/31/2012. I am new to this website so I do not know how to attach the file. Can you help?

sure...
To Attach a File:

1. Click on Go Advanced
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.

Re: Conditial Formula size

I have been trying to upload this file and it tells me that the file is too big. I have deleted a lot of areas that were not necessary to look at this formula and it still tells me that the file is too big. I even try to put it in a zip file. Now that the file is smaller the file does not ballon when I copy that formula. Do you have any other suggestions?

When I said the file does not ballon I mean that the memory usage in the task manager does not increase.
