Change input number to red in sheet1 when it matches number in sheet2

I would like any number put in column A to change to red and bold when it matches a number in column 1 of sheet2. Have read posts for 4 hours before crying uncle! Thanks for any help you fine folks can offer.

    Hello
As your reference numbers are on another sheet, you'll have to give the range a name, eg. 'NumbersList'. Then apply the following conditional formatting formula to the cells in column A on Sheet1:

Any count within the list should format the cell as required.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response! Where do I put the name of the range and how do I designate the color of the font if there is a match with a number on sheet two.

    HI
    Try the following:

    1. On sheet2, select cells A1:A5. Click in the Name Box (directly above) and type your name, then press Enter.

    2. On sheet1 select the cells in column A you wish to format.

    3. Go to Conditional Formatting on the Home Ribbon, select New Rule.

    4. Then: 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'.

    5. Place the formula in the dialogue box and click the Format button to select whatever formats you wish. Click OK.

    Hope this makes some sense.
