SUM data that falls within a time interval

    Hi guys,

I have a list of time and volume. e.g.

I'm trying to sum up the volume if they fall within a half hour time interval (e.g. between 0:00 to 0:30 and 0:30 to 1:00 etc.)

I've tried SUMPRODUCT and SUMIF but none of them seem to be working. Can anyone help out please.

    Thank you!

not every1 can open .png files, myself included. It would be far better if you could upload a sample of your file, showing what you have, and an example of your expected outcome. Thanks*
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!
-Add a File - click advanced (next to quick post), scroll to manage attachments, click, select add files, click select files, select file, click upload, when file shows up at bottom left, click done (bottom right), click submit
-To mark thread Solved- go top of thread, click Thread Tools, click Mark as Solved
If you received helpful response, please remember to hit the * of that post

Re: SUM data that falls within a time interval

Hi thanks for the quick reply! I have an very long list of time and corresponding volume.
An example of my data right now is:

    Time Volume
    0:16 45
    0:27 8
    0:45 88
    12:30 34
    20:31 2

    etc.

I am trying to sum all the volume that falls in each half hour interval (e.g. from example above 0:00 to 0:30 will return as the sum of 45 and 8)

COUNTIFS and SUMPRODUCTS have not be working, I suspect that it might have something to do with the format of the time but not sure. Any help/suggestions will be appreciated!

Re: SUM data that falls within a time interval

The problem with a "sample" written in a post like you have, is there is no way to check HOW the data actually looks to the spreadsheet, so we might provide a perfectly valid answer that does NOT work for your data...is the time timecode or concatenated numbers?..using Hours()/Mins() functions rely on the timecode, where as if they are concatenated values, we'd have to pull them out individually for the comparisions..

    so..

a sample workbook, formatted the same way, with data that 'mimics' the actual data (no personal/confidential info please ) is much easier to work with...

    Hope this helps

Re: SUM data that falls within a time interval

can you help me with this as well?

Looking for a formula for a SUMIF total to be allocated to a specific date....in other words I only want the data for the date it was booked.

Don't know if this makes sense or not. Thank you in advance

Re: SUM data that falls within a time interval

Hi I think you can just list the dates in one colume and SUMIF the data matches the date specified?
If you can link me to an example of your spreadsheet I can have a look at it for you

    @ Adsup01
You can create your own thread, upload a sample workbook with expected outcome and some explanation can also a great help.
