Forgove me if this is simple data validation-
Is there a formula that will make sure a cell starts with a certain sequence of numbers? If my order numbers began with 123, but the last 3 digits were different, how could I validate that the first 3 digits were always 123.

Using data validation whole number between 123000 and 123999 would do it.

Welcome to the forum. I'm open to correction, but I don't think that validation can cover that. However, if there's room for a creative approach, you could enter only the last 3 digits in eg A2, then have a formula in B2 which concatenates "123" & the entry in A2. Have a look at the attached, which I hope helps.
