    Problem with SUM function

    Hello,

The cells all have numbers but the SUM function won't add them. There are no text in the cells that are trying to be added and there is no green triangle appearing either. The only thing special about the values, is that they are taken from different worksheets.

This is what I am seeing in the worksheet. It used to display the total, but now all it displays is zero.

    Re: Problem with SUM function

Are the values aligned to the right in the column, or the left? If they are to the left, that means they are being stored as text and SUM won't work.

Assume your data starts in A1 -Use this formula in B1 and fill down: =ISNUMBER(A1)

If the results are FALSE, that means the values you see are text, not numbers. If that is the case, you will need to convert them to numbers.
