    If function for a variable

I have a problem with how to calculate commissions for the salespeople which are based on the commission for the company.

If there is under 10% gross commission for the company, the salesperson gets 25% of the commission.
$1000.00 sale 9% gross commission, the company gets $90.00 and the salesperson earns $22.50.

If there is a gross commission of 10%-14%, the company, the salesperson gets 30% of the gross commission.
$1000.00 sale 10% gross commission, the company gets $100.00 and the salesperson earns $25.00.

If there is a gross commission of 15% or more, the salesperson get 35% of the gross commission.
$1000.00 sale 20% gross commission, the company gets $200.00 and the salespersons earns $75.00.

Now, I have to put in 3 columns and figure each separately and then a fourth column to add those three columns.

Any ideas how to shorten this.

    Hi

Can you post a sample worksheet (no confidential information) so we can see the layout and give you a formula to match your sheet

Hi BJ1 and welcome to the forum.

I think you are looking for a VLookup function with a TRUE as the last argument. Then you can use a Table for the lookup values. See the attached. I don't know if the Percent Profit should be from the Cost or the Price, but the Vlookup works.

This did it, thanks. Am just getting into the expanded understanding of Excel and this is exactly what I needed. Thank you.
