VLOOKUP for Rows beneath

Okay, so I need to run a VLOOKUP that will pull data for the rows beneath the actual cell that's being looked up. But, there are some quirks...

My aplogies that it looks a little jumbled.

101 630 647 647 610
Grade 1 131 131 131 115
Grade 2 96 99 99 94
Grade 3 94 98 98 89
Grade 4 90 92 92 84
Grade 5 81 80 80 80
Grade KN 69 76 76 77
Grade PK 69 71 71 71
103 616 619 618 565
Grade 1 112 112 112 105
Grade 2 113 111 111 95
Grade 3 95 94 94 84
Grade 4 81 84 83 79
Grade 5 85 83 83 76
Grade KN 87 90 89 78
Grade PK 43 45 46 48

This is a small example of the spreadsheet. My vlookup is currently set up to look for the "org number" that is in column A. In this case, it would be either 101 or 103. It will then pull the data to the right of that cell, the data being the total for all the grades below. What I need is a vlookup that will pull the data from the rows below, but only if the cell in column A starts with "grade." Not all the orgs have the same grade range so I need it to not pull the data whenever the next org starts.

Is this possible...or have I even made any sense?

Any help?

Re: VLOOKUP for Rows beneath

sounds like you could do this with index/match, but hard to say without seeing a sample workbook (the sample you posted here doesnt show it too well)

To Attach a File:

1. Click on Go Advanced
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: VLOOKUP for Rows beneath

I have attached the file and hidden the worksheets that aren't necessary. The chart worksheet is where I need to put the vlookups. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
