    please help me witha specific search option

    so i have this specific databse that i made during internship and id like to add a search function on a separate page. from the page named tabladinamica id like 2 drop down menus/cells that allow me to choose any of the cities in column B (first drop down menu/cell), and any of the ratings in collumn H (second drop down menu/cell) i wnat i to give me the results of clumn N which meet those 2 requirements. attached is the file

    Data Filtering will work. From the ribbon select Data/Filter
    Click on star (*) below if this helps

    An alternative is to create a Pivot table. Look at the attachment.

    i wont be usign this database btu other ppl that know even less about excell than i do. id like to set it up as i described. this was done exactly like that as an example to me some months back but i cant figure out how it was done

    pivoty table seems to be what was shown to me how do i switch the results to show the data in column M that meets the requirements instead of column C?

    Excellent. I misread your requirements and saw that you wanted column N in the results. Glad you got it figured out. If you need help on Pivots, look at my signature block and select the item for Pivot tables.

    one mor ethign that is slightly annoying. but when i try to add another column to be displayed in teh results sections, anythign to do with number suddenly brings me this quit distractign extra column to everythign that says total. which jsut repeasst the same thing. any idea how to remove that?

    Highlight the field name at the top. Right click and uncheck sub totals. Also look at the options for Pivots and uncheck column totals and grand totals. May have to hunt around a bit. I am on my Office 2002 machine right now and don't recall exactly how it is in 2010.

    allright thanks a lot finally got everything set up. kinda annoyiogn for me since im workign in spanish excel and ive never used it anythign btu english and even then not much. so i get kinda lost when trying to figure stuff out. ether way problem solved if ther are mods please close the thread
