    dates and days

i am using the date tool to build a monthly time sheet, starting on the 26th of each month. but i need the time sheet to always start with a monday, even if it then leaves some days at the start of the week blank. at the moment i am using the date and day tool so every time the sheet starts on the 26th, it changes the day above to whatever the actual date is. any help would be great i can send the sheet or cells if that would help mrexcel.jpg

    Hi numbers,

Is 26th deriving from some formula ?
To get an idea, try looking at below formula and attached workbook.. thanks.

    Re: dates and days

DILIPandley, that works perfectly, solved that problem but i have another.

the problem i now have is i want the hours in the week to be totalled, but only on the days that are after 25th of the month and before the 26th of the next month. how do i set up a formula to preclude the days before the 26th of the month and still include the days before the 26th of the next month.

i.e. December 26th is a Wednesday, so i only want the hours from Wed 26th December to Fri 25th Jan (inclusive) to be calculated. My problem is the cell relating to the 26th moves each month. i think it is some kind of if then but i am lost
