    Defined Name + Index Match

So I've been messing around with Index Match and have a couple of questions:

How can I drag the formula into multiple cells without changing the range of the index?
If referencing a defined name as the variable for the MATCH search, what problems should I expect?

Please see my attachment. I left some blurbs and comments in there about what I'm trying to accomplish.

I tried checking this site: http://www.randomwok.com/excel/how-to-use-index-match/ however my employer has it blocked. if anyone is able to print to pdf and attachment, i would appreciate it.

    Cheers.

hi ricky2k2, welcome to the forum. use the "$" signs to help you fix row or columns. they are called absolute & relative referencing. here's the attachment for your reference

Edit: there's no problems referencing a defined name as a variable
