HELP - Conditional Formula with Drop Down Box

Hi guys,

I have a spreadsheet in Excel 2010 I need help with.

I have a drop down list in cell J3 with options Male or Female. In cell M3 (yellow highlight) I want the formula and calculation to end up.

Essentially I have two seperate formula's to calculate the various Age/Height/Weight/*** data in column I. The formula for calculating the result is different for both Male/Female.

Thus what I want to achieve in cell M3 (yellow highlight) is it will calculate the data based on the specific data in Column I, depending on whether Male or Female is selected in the drop down list in cell J3.

Thanks for the assistance MarvinP, however I don't think a countif will solve my issue (correct me if I'm wrong)

Some further info I didn't include in my OP

BMR Basal Metabolic Rate Formula's
>Male BMR Formula (66+(13.7*J6)+(5*J5)-(6.8*J4))
>Female BMR Formula (665+(9.6*J6)+(1.8*J5)-(4.7*J4))

So the inputs for the calculation are obviously ***/Age/Height/Weight. As illustrated above, those are the two formula's to calculate the 'BMR', as you can see they are different for male or female.

I attempted SUMIF/IFS function but still didn't end up where I want.

Essentially, if Male is selected in the drop down list, then it will calculate the various ***/Age/Height/Weight inputs using the above formula for 'Male BMR' and vice versa if Female is selected in the drop down list
