vlookup to find a find a pay plan match for a job in the personal services budget

I am attempting to link the personnel data in the city's pay plan to budgeted positions in the budget. THe pay plan is a spreadsheet with job titles, series numbers listed vertically in column a and b. The salaries are arrayed horizontally in rows 3 thru 344 corresponding to the job shwon in column a with longevity steps shown horizontally for each job columns f:n. I want to be able to cross reference the salaries in the budget to the pay plan so that we can accuratelly estimate the salary info with so much manual entry. help. thanks. Phillip

I've set up an example on sheet2.

    1) I created a dynamic named range called JOBS. It consists of however many rows of data you add to sheet1. That named range is used to control the drop down selection in column B on the sheet2

    2) I created a static named range called Scale. It consists of cells E1:N1 on sheet1. That named range is used to control the drop down selection in column C on the sheet2.

    3) I created a dynamic named range called Payrates. It consists of cells E3:N??? on sheet1 where it lengthens itself down as many rows as you have data. That named range is used to set the INDEX for the formula used in column D on sheet2.
