Conditional formating based on text in 2 columns (but only partial text!)

Hi All,

I need to conditional format a whole row of data if Cell A contains/starts with A-BC and Cell B contains/starts with B-CD. If these (both) are not present then leave unhighlighted.

I have tried the formula's below:

=AND(A1="*A-BC*",B1="*B-CD*")
=AND(A1="A-BC",B1="B-CD")
=AND(A1=A-BC,B1=B-CD)

Of which none work (which you've probably gathered!)

any suggestions would be massively welcome.
