Need Formula Help: sum of a set of cells if another set of cells meets criteria

Hi there,
I am trying to reach the sum of a set of cells if another set of cells states one thing or another.

In H2:H35 the cells read either Conv or Gov.
In J2:J35 the cells contain a loan amount.

I need to create 2 "Total Loan Amount" cells.
The first will be the total loan amount if H2:H35 reads Conv.
The second will be the total loan amount if H2:H35 reads Gov.

Can someone help me with the correct formula?

In cells (or wherever):
K1: Conv
L1: Gov
Then in K2 and copy across to L2.
