Question Vlookup? Maybe...

Hello,

I need some help here. I'm trying to extract data from one worksheet to another but I don't know if I'm using the right function. On one worksheet (Data) in cell A1 I have part numbers, in B1 the description, and in C1 the UPC's. What I want to do is scan an acutal UPC on another worksheet (Lookup) and have the part number and description from worksheet (data) to auto-populate in an assigned cell i.e.,

UPC: UPC to be scanned in a cell
Part Number: Once UPC is scanned part number that is associated to UPC to auto populate from worksheet (data)
Description: Once UPC is scanned Description that is associated to UPC to auto populate from worksheet (data)

Hi McLori and welcome to the forum

Without seeing a sample workbook, uts hard to say, but from what you described, I think you need to use index/match. vlookup cannot look "behind" itself

perhaps it would be easier to help you if you uploaded a sample workbook, showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome would be, and how you would arrive at that (remove any confidential info if necessary).
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
