    sumifs not working

Hello, I have a sheet (not created by me) that uses a sumif formula to get the yearly numbers (column EA) from the monthly numbers. For some reason, the yearly numbers are not adding up and I'm not sure why. I think it has to do with the fact that I haven't put in data for all of the months. Is there a way to get around this? I've attached a sample spreadsheet. Thanks.

Thanks. It looks like the only difference between your formula and the one in the sheet was this ="" compared to <>0. What's the difference? Thanks.

    Re: sumifs not working

Dilipandey is off-line right now. ="" tests for an empty cell (contains no data at all), while <> 0 tests for a value that is no = to 0 - the cell actually contains some data, even if it is zero, a cell with zero in it (ie 1-1) actually does have content in it

so it is now testing for blank/empty cells, rather than cells that may (or may not) contain zero

    Hope that makes sense?
