Conversion of an array of figures inputted into cells as word figures to Excel figures

I have been given a big array of figures in a spreadsheet that have been inputted in "Word" format eg 3, 550 ha and I wish to convert them to figures eg 3.55 without having to physically retype or re-enter the figures.

You can apply Find&Replace (CTRL-H) to the column to first of all find <space>ha and replace it with nothing and then to find <comma><space> and replace it with nothing.
