Vlookup return the header name of table (Table of 4 column x 55 rows)

Hi,

I am looking for a solution where the end result would be Column Header name.

I have tried using vlookup but not working as expected. I want to search any record from 220 values and formula should return the header name of matched value position.

My Table matrix is 4 column x 55 Rows.

Try uploading a sample workbook of your data, minus any confidential data. Include what you want to lookup, and the expected result.

you may have to do a seperate search in each column, and then use that result to give the header

Is that just random data you entered, or does your data follow that sequence (col1 = 100-199, col2 = 200-299, etc)?

Is the value you need to lookup in H14:H17! Whats the Values in H5:H8 with the word lookup in cell I5.
See the attached file, cells J14:J17 are returning the column names for the criteria in H14:H17

Hi,

Its random data entered. But also my data doesn't follow any sequences (Its 8 digit numbers).

As of now I have done some workaround by transpose data vertically (1 vertical column of 4 column) and put headers name against to recognise data by Vlookup.

But this not looks good practice every time. Waiting for your revert. Thanks.
