Why this formula only works when the external link file is open

    Hi, good morning.

I just have a very simple formula to count the total number of cells in file Book1:

    =COUNTA(OFFSET([Book1.xlsx]Sheet1!$A$1,95,5,1000))

This works well if the file is open. But always results in an error #VALUE if it is not open. Do you know why? Because of OFFSET?

Got it solved. Basically OFFSET() does not support external link.
