    How do I create a rolling bank account balance?

    Hi Everyone,

    I want to create a spreadsheet which shows my current bank account balance. In the spreadsheet I want to have fields which show monthly outgoings. Under each month I will enter how much I have spent during a day on a specific thing, i.e. petrol. So once I have entered that amount I want my balance cell to minus that amount, however, I also want the balance cell to recognise when I get paid. So for example, if I get paid on the 28th of every month, I want the balance cell to plus the amount I get paid, (this amount will be the same every month) once the current date exceeds the 28th.

    I have attached a spreadsheet which contains formulas which hopefully you can see and workout what I am trying to do. Please let me know if you need anymore information.

    May be in B1: =SUM(176.21-SUM(B22:M22)+B25)

    try the macro, I recommend you input the expenses on the Ledger tab and the orignal tab summarizes them automatically

    Kevin UK - Thanks for your reply, this sum is useful however, I need it to plus the salary every month rather than just the once, is that possible? Thanks.

    RCM - Thanks for your reply, I am working in Office 2003 so the spreadsheet you have sent me won't open the formulas properly. Is it possible to produce some formulas that work in 2003? Thanks.

    Hi Kevin, looks good to me, can you just explain to em exactly what it is doing? Looks to me that the balance will be shown at the bottom of each 'Month' column? Thanks, Archie.

    See the attached, Last attempt!
    The income row should update month to month. See how you get on with that. it was that 176.21 in B2, I have moved it!
    Change the date in C1 and see if your happy with that!
