    Hi,

    I have 2 sheet:

    Sheet1 Header
    Date Company Called Number of calls

    Sheet2 header:

    Date Company name Number of calls

    Requirement:
    Check date column of sheet1 with sheet2 if matched count unique company name in B column of Sheet2.

    I have done this it might help (it uses a helper column but I don't think you could do it without 1)

    Its working

    I was trying with the following to get unique ids: =SUM(IF(FREQUENCY()>0,1))

    But struck to instruct the formula only when the date match trigger the formula only for the particular date.

    put this ARRAY formula in Sheet1!B2 of the sample you uploaded in post #1; no helper column required:
